Chronically ill Chronicles
In 2008 at 21 I was diagnosed with FSGS a degenerative kidney disease. After 15 years and 2 covid infections, I entered End Stage Renal Disease. Because of that I began dialysis Fall 2024. I am now waiting for a kidney transplant which can take 5-7 years unless I find a living donor. This blog hopefully will educate, entertain, and encourage folks about being a donor and kidney health.

What happens in a kidney transplant, for the recipient?
A kidney transplant can give someone a better quality of life. Did you know that you don't replace the non functioning kidney? They just keep adding new ones.

What are the dangers of HemoDialysis?
While dialysis is life saving and necessary for people who have kidney failure. It is not without risk.

What does dialysis do?
Dialysis is the process of cleaning the blood via machine when the kidneys are not able to. Cleaning the blood by removing excess fluid and toxins from the body. I do hemodialysis, but there is an additional type called peritoneal dialysis too.
